Lodha, real estate developer, announced a tie-up with Bain Capital and Ivanhoe Cambridge to develop a next generation green digital infrastructure platform to invest US $1 billion to create USD 1 billion to create operating assets worth 30 million square feet to serve the digital economy of the country. The platform will establish a pan-India presence in the digital infrastructure, including logistics, light industrial parks, and in-city fulfilment centers. Lodha will lead the development, operations, and management of the assets. Abhishek Lodha, CEO and MD, said, “Following the government’s focus on improving logistics efficiency and creating jobs across the country, the platform will plan the development of industrial and logistics parks as well in-city fulfilment centers across multiple cities in India. And we will focus on building and operating this digital infrastructure to the highest levels of environmental sustainability with the view to creating a global benchmark.” Each of the three partners will have a 33 per cent equity interest in the property ownership.

With the focus on supporting growth of the Indian e-commerce ecosystem by expanding infrastructure and services, DHL Supply Chain has, after Bangalore, now expanded its India Fulfilment Network (IFN) to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Delhi. To enable a seamless payment experience, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), in partnership with Kotak Mahindra Bank and Phi Commerce, has introduced omnichannel payment solution across the airport ecosystem. The omnichannel payment solution, designed for the airport in partnership with payment solutions company Phi Commerce and KMBL, will enable a safe and secure payment experience across the airport, as per an official statement. The solution will power B2B and B2C payments across channels – both online and offline. Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI) upgrades its Mumbai office infrastructure with the highly innovative and latest technologies, on May 3, 2022, on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya. Global tech service provider, Capgemini has been selected by the Airbus to deliver a cloud-first transformation programme for its commercial aircraft and helicopters businesses worldwide. Capgemini will now help Airbus with a fully managed service of the core cloud infrastructure for its business. “Capgemini will drive transformation of existing services through unification and modernization, managing both private and public clouds as well as legacy infrastructure, along with infrastructure management, to achieve the flexibility needed to meet any future needs of Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters,” according to the company’s statement. “The hybrid cloud transformation programme will accelerate new functionalities through advanced releases in Airbus’ IT systems, while contributing to innovation at scale to support Airbus’ production activities and supply chains,” the statement read.

Keeping in mind growth of logistics sector, Rivigo has relaunched National Freight Index (NFI) to ensure end-to-end transparency in freight rates. The company has relaunched NFI after two years to publish daily rates for container trucks to boost transparency in the road-freight marketplace. “The NFI, which is completely tech-driven, will provide easy access to daily freight prices for truck owners, transporters, and other stakeholders and establish trust and transparency in the highly fragmented logistics and supply chain market,” as per the company statement.
