The state government has cleared a significant logistics investment along the Ramayapatnam Port corridor, approving a ₹1,615 crore multi-cargo modular rail terminal in Nellore district. The project, to be developed by Ramayapatnam Cargo Rail Terminal (RCRT), is expected to strengthen freight movement in the region’s growing maritime–industrial zone and generate around 1,300 jobs. Officials said the terminal will come up on 429 acres near Tettu Railway Station and will function as a critical inland logistics hub supporting the upcoming Ramayapatnam deep-water port, one of Andhra Pradesh’s key maritime initiatives. In the first phase, the government has sanctioned the allotment of 153.77 acres in Chevuru village to RCRT after detailed review by the State Investment Promotion Committee and the State Investment Promotion Board.
